FAQ
Where is this conference being held?
MacKenzie Conference Centre. The address is 5737 45 Ave, Drayton Valley. This conference is NOT being held at the Altar, so make sure you come to the right place!
How much is admission?
IT’S FREE! However, space is limited, so we ask that you register so that you don't miss out!
Will you be providing meals?
We deeply value connection and community. Therefore, even though this is a short conference, there will be a free lunch on Saturday.
I have special dietary needs. Will there be other menu options?
We apologize, but we are unable to provide special meals for those who have dietary restrictions. You are, however, more than welcome to bring your own food and join us for lunch.
Where can I stay?
We have negotiated special rates at a few of hotels in Drayton Valley which are both very close to the conference center. Please click here for more information.
Will I be allowed to camp at the Altar?
This conference is being held in the town of Drayton Valley, not at the Altar. There are a variety of campsites around Drayton Valley.
Will there be a Children's Ministry?
If your child(ren) is aged 5 to 12, they will be very blessed, as we have invited Donna Boone to teach and equip our children while we ourselves are getting refreshed! Donna is an experienced and dynamic communicator, author and teacher. She has a unique and fun way to connect with children through black light, life-sized puppetry, ventriloquism, illusions, games, songs and dance. Donna’s creative, fast-paced presentations engage children, youth and adults alike. Her enthusiasm and obvious love for children are contagious! You can find more information about her and her ministry here: https://www.donnaboone.com/
What about my child who is under 4 years old?
Unfortunately, due to the requirements needed for small children (space required, adult/child ratio required, etc.), we are unable to provide care for smaller children. They are more than welcome to come, (of course!) but please be prepared to keep them busy with snacks, quiet games, etc. Please be aware of where your children are at all times.
Giving
God has given us a vision to build an altar in the wilderness, a place of escape to pursue the Lord and regularly gather with like minded Kingdom people. We envision dorm facilities, dozens of cabins, green houses, gardens, eating facilities and so much more. In a world where people are continually monitored, The Altar will be a place “out of site and out of mind” where believers will hear the undiluted gospel of the Kingdom, discover true community and be equipped to stand in the evil day.
But how do we pay for it?
There’s never any pressure to give at The Altar. Why? Because high pressure offerings wouldn’t cover the cost of what God is asking us to build anyway. We need the kind of financial miracles that only come to those who put their trust in God alone. We trust Him to speak to people, and He does.
God gives seed to the sower! If you are one of those, you’ll find The Altar to be good soil to sow into. If God puts it in your heart to invest in a gathering, to help us build The Altar, or perhaps to finance in one of our cabins (we’ll make sure you get to sleep in it!), we trust you’ll obey Him in that.
